ABOUT US

Over 25 Years of Experience

Founded by two accomplished vocalists, Larisa Dykhtan and PJ Bahramian, the Vocal School of Vaughan is a collaborative endeavor aimed at delivering top-notch vocal training services to our community.

With over 25 years of collective experience in the music industry, our instructors draw upon their extensive expertise to inspire and work closely with students. The professional training provided at our school has resulted in our students achieving success in competitions, gaining acceptance into prestigious music programs, and cultivating a profound sense of confidence and appreciation for their vocal skills.

Larisa Dykhtan

Larisa’s first experience on stage was at the age of five, when she performed as a soloist for a national choir in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

As a child Larisa won numerous prizes for her vocal performance and participation in children's shows. She studied piano and theory at a music school in Russia (former USSR). These early experiences shaped her life-long passion for singing and music.

In 1996 at the age of 16 she decided to take her vocal skills to the next level. She continued her music and vocal education in Russia, recorded her first demo and continued to sing as a hobby until 2002 when she was offered an opportunity to perform at the opening ceremony of CNE in Toronto.

Since 2002, Larisa has worked with various local bands, recorded numerous lead and back up tracks for DJs and bands and continued to win numerous vocal competitions and prizes.

Current Career

Since 2005 Larisa has been working as a singer in a professional cover band doing weddings, corporate events and other private functions.

Larisa founded Vocal School of Vaughan in 2013 with PJ Bahramian and built it from the ground up to one of the best Vocal Schools in the City with hundreds of happy and successful students!

As an experienced vocal Coach, mentor and an inspiration to her students, Larisa helps individuals of all ages and levels, understand and improve the singing voice.

Over the years, I have done extensive research on the human voice, vocal mechanics, speech mechanics and let me tell you. The human voice is just so amazing. So fascinating.

I am more interested in the science aspect of singing, to be honest, and what keeps my passion going is the fact that we are all so different and our voices are all different, even though they function the same way.

Every student I have is hardly ever like another. Each is so unique. And I love to be able to bring out this individuality out of them even more, and watch it grow and develop into something that we did not even know was possible.

PJ Bahramian

Growing up in Toronto Canada, PJ had musical aspirations at a very young age. He was only 12 when he formed his first rock band and started getting his vocal training at the age of 15. Upon working with some of the greatest teachers that the industry had to offer, PJ was accepted into the Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood California in 2003.

It was there that he came to own his craft as a singer and learned all the ins and outs of the music industry, music theory, performance, songwriting and composing. Upon his graduation, PJ was offered a teaching position at MI and became one of the youngest teachers to be teaching at the Institute.

From 2003 to 2005 PJ worked as a host for a music show at a Los Angeles Persian Television Channel "ITN" and was featured in various commercials and music videos.

Current Career

PJ went on to form his existing band, Man the Destroyer, in 2005 in Hollywood and moved it to Toronto the same year. Man, the Destroyer, has come a long way from being a garage band to performing across Canada and the US with some of the biggest stars in the industry, including Blaze Bayley, former singer of Iron Maiden in 2011.

Since 2013 PJ has dedicated his time to training and coaching aspiring singers of all ages by combining the knowledge gained from his music education and vocal performance, along with years of touring the North American live music scene and multiple award-winning recording projects.

Learn from the one that has been in the trenches and one who knows what it takes to succeed.

Helping artist and singers develop their style and technique and seeing them perform with confidence and skill is the most enjoyable thing for me next to performing on stage myself.
